Some useful tools & guides for RF exposure assessment

While much care has gone into assembling these resources, no warranties are provided on their use.

A guide to assessing RF uncertainty

This online GitBook guide curates Vitas’s extensive knowledge and experience in the tricky task of estimating the uncertainty of measured and calculated RF exposure assessments.

Assessment guide for metal implants in RF workers

This document provides guidance on assessing whether persons bearing metallic implants inside their bodies should be restricted from exposure to the upper tier limits of the radiofrequency (RF) safety guidelines (1998) published by the International Commission for Non-ionising Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) and the C95.1 (2005) standard of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).

It was developed by Dr Vitas Anderson and Dr Robert McIntosh as a research project for the Asian Office of Aerospace Research and Development (AOARD) of the US Air Force Research Laboratories (AFRL), under the auspices of the Australian Centre for Bioeffects Research (now revived as the ACEBR).

An earlier edition of this document was published in the International EMF Dosimetry Handbook and its main recommendations have been incorporated into the ICES IEEE C95.1 2005 standard on safety levels with respect to human exposure to RF EMF.
